"טוטם אפריקאי"
כמו חלום שעלה מתוך חולות המדבר , כך צומח "הטוטם האפריקאי" — דימוי אישי של איך היה נראה טוטם אינדיאני אילו נולד באפריקה.
במרכזו ניצב הלוחם המסאי, דמות רזה, זקופה, מהורהרת, עטופה בהילה של שלווה פנימית. סביבו — מערבולת צבעים, תנועה, קמיעות ויצורים זעירים השומרים עליו כעל סוד קדום.
הצבעוניות העזה, המלאה בצלילים ובאנרגיה, נוגדת את דמותו הכהה והשקטה של הלוחם ומדגישה את האצילות שבו.
זהו מפגש בין סערה לשלווה, בין שקט פנימי לרעש חיצוני, בין אפריקה לבין דמיון אוניברסלי.
הפסל עשוי עץ, צבוע בצבעי אקריליק, ומשובץ ב"חפיצים" – אותם פריטים קטנים הנושאים עימם היסטוריה, הומור, ורוח חיים.
כך נוצר טוטם חדש: לא של אב קדום, אלא של נפש אחת המחפשת חיבור בין תרבויות, בין דורות, בין עולמות.

Curator’s Note
“African Totem”
Like a dream rising from the desert sands, African Totem emerges — a personal vision of how an Indigenous totem might have looked, had it been born in Africa.
At its center stands the Maasai warrior — slender, upright, contemplative — wrapped in an aura of inner calm. Around him swirl colors, movement, amulets, and tiny creatures that guard him like an ancient secret.
The vivid color palette, filled with rhythm and energy, contrasts the dark, silent figure of the warrior, emphasizing his quiet nobility.
It is a meeting between storm and stillness, between inner peace and outer sound, between Africa and the universal imagination.
The sculpture is made of wood, painted with acrylics, and inlaid with “found objects” — small fragments that carry memory, humor, and the spirit of life.
Thus emerges a new kind of totem: not of an ancestor, but of a soul seeking connection — between cultures, generations, and worlds.
